Do you have to/can you bring your own vehicles?
No, all vehicles and safety equipment are provided.

What kind/make of vehicles do we use if they are provided?
The exact competition vehicles that we will be using haven’t been confirmed yet for the 2007/2008 events, but our most recent events have used Nissan 350Z, Nissan Patrol, Honda TRX 250 EX and TRX 400 EX ATVs, BMW 3 Series, Jeep Liberty, and Suzuki DRZ 400cc dirt bikes.

Do you need to have any previous race experience?
Previous competitive driving experience is a definite advantage, but it is not a requirement. We’re looking for enthusiastic, passionate drivers who are up for a challenge.

Are sponsored racers allowed to enter?
No sponsored racers can participate in this race. Dunlop Drivers Cup is for non-professional drivers only.

Do I have to pay for lodging, travel or entry fees if I make it through the U.S. Regionals and to the World Finals?
Dunlop will provide you with a round-trip flight(s), ground transportation, lodging and group meals. Midnight munchies are your own responsibility, however.

The site says we will be training with professionals. When do we do this? Is it one-on-one experience? Classroom setting? During the races?
There will be a short classroom setting instruction session every morning before the competition. Following a safety briefing, driving coaches will cover the basics of how to operate the vehicle of the day along with details of the course layouts. These driving experts will also be on-site during the competition to provide you with some pointers and answer any questions you may have.

No, Dunlop will make the team selections.

How are partners selected?
Based on each competitor’s driving experience, relative strengths in the various events, and eye color, we try to balance the teams to provide the most competitive experience for all of the drivers. (Just kidding about the eye color, of course.)

When will I find out if I made the cut for The Finals?
At the closing ceremonies dinner on the last night.

Is there a reward for winning at each stage?
No monetary rewards will be provided. Winners’ trophies, bragging rights and unbelievable memories are yours to take home from each event. Past event competitors have left with helmet head, adrenalin rushes, sore muscles, lifetime friends, fun Dunlop gear, teddy bears, rocks and even a few mouthfuls of sand.
